the cops will arrest him for scaring little girls
oh man you have good shelves
i got one with like stamped tabs to hold the shelf braces and shit was horrible
warehouses dont bolt
and warehouses are warehouses
and if you mean onto brackets for wall mounting, yes
macegr got the $160 crap

Posted by renesis at 14:51 | permalink | 0 comments

also, their shit isnt a dev board, its a finished end product without the case, which it looks like they knew would need certs
thats like if a project manager was like OH SHIT CERTIFICATION COSTS HOW MUCH? THATS IF WE DO IT PERFECT THE FIRST TIME? DOES THAT EVER HAPPEN?
FUCKIT SHIP IT WITHOUT THE CASE THOSE ARDUINO DORKS DID IT
i should tell our CTO
because im always like CLEAR IS THE NEW BLACK, LETS PUT NO REWORK IN THE PRD
not i can be like, AIR IS THE NEW BLACK
*now
macegr: what are you about to finger
haha i like, woke up from a stoner nap with my fingers like that
and my sister was like WERE YOU FINGERING SOME CHICK IN YOUR DREAM
im like, naw cigarette

wait wtf
why are RS and element14 doing production support for rasberry pi
dude thats like guitar center doing our production support
thats like, yeah we did this much work to get your product ready to ship, were going to go ahead and sieze this shit, kty

Posted by renesis at 14:38 | permalink | 0 comments

well yeah depends on input Z but issue is still because its mV
well hell get the cheapest opamp ever
so besides a few mV of noise, hell have a few mV of offset
couple 100uV/C drift
prob have lots of flash on the epoxy package
smell funny

Posted by renesis at 14:25 | permalink | 0 comments

yeah but at .005, even 4 wire is goofy, youd need stupid fat traces
if you were going any serious distance
yeah buts its .005
wait, no it doesnt matter anymore
moon wins
chefoxof: haha, well when you put it like that...
at 1A
and 5mV is above most noise floors!
by a mV
or two
yeah i was thinking trace vs sense resistance but doesnt matter
wait

however they have the shit so at exjob, we just let china do everything
damn not enough downkey
at exjob, we just let china do everything
monkeyisl: yeah not convinced
all that solder, you prob permanently threw the value off with heat, anyway
this is like buying a 1pf cap and expecting 1pf to happen
seriously where is the device that is sensing that shit?
because that really does not look like a 4 wire setup
also did you pay more than $5 for that resistor?

Posted by renesis at 14:15 | permalink | 0 comments

its how tightly you were holding the comb generator and also humidity, obviously
it should be
our lab is in the middle of the santa monica mountains
like the next canyon over from las virgines/malibu canyon
monkeyisl: we dont care because your solder and traces will prob be more than .005R anyway
`nico: did i show you the cage?
well, in the engineering lab upstairs
thing we played with the speaker in the QA lab
monkeyisl: welcome
`nico: we get pretty close measurements in the cage vs the lab we go to

so theyre basically held up as an example of why you dont fuck around when it comes to certs
rab: oberheim was apperently same shit =)
but the community was ripping off designs from big analog synths back when it was potted magic, so goes both ways
straight from doidics mouth, and i doubt he directly copied anything
oh anyway, back to funny behringer story
so anyway, behringer is trying to take peavey to court
saying their shit doesnt pass EMC
that theyre eating market with an illegal product
which people found amusing, because its behringer, not exactly the emc poster boy
`nico: so one of the techs makes a joke, prob because he had just taken a fender mustang modeling amp to the EMC lab
it failed, as far as i knew, but were not like, sueing fender
anyway, hes like HAHAHAHA BEHRINGER COPIED PEAVEYS AMP AND GOT PISSED IT DIDNT PASS EMC!
which, really truly, is prob the truth

blackmoon: it doesnt matter so much
everyone else has gone through the transistion bullshit
the designers and the factories, so there wont be ridiculous fuckups dealing with lead free processes
we have to get ready for rohs2, or whatever its called
`nico: do you know about behringer? like their rep in the industry?
yeah
notorious for lifting circuits from classic products
they put our firmware on a delay pedal
like, it checksummed, it was ours
policy is basically get the user affordable sound engineer gear, at all costs
because the founder couldnt afford gear, wanted to be an audio engineer
theirs
dbx isnt exactly #1 shit either
and the dsp for their products is pretty straightforward
it would be like patenting click menus on a computer
anyway, behringer cut corners once and got a HUGE cert fine, i think ROHS

like, i think most of our product we spec no damage, and must reset without user intervention in the case of lockup
rab: mass production isnt supposed to be easy
they want to make $$$
you do it right, you make all the $$$
safety compliance is kinda more sketchy than EMC
yeah
and you cant just have the cert numbers
they will charge you for three weeks and at the end go 'no we need the actual documents'
haha my friend freaked out as his new job
HOLY SHIT GUYS THIS PART ISNT ROHS WE BEEN SHIPPING IT FOR YEARS JEZUS FUCK STOP SHIP STOP SHIP
and theyre like, fool were excempt because medical
he was like euphoric
well thats good because he has experience in dealing with ROHS, safety and EMC

so like, theyre taking money for these things?
who is liz
is she cute?
8K air
4K contact is usually way worse
and its exposed metal, i think
which i guess is everything on this thing!
a lot of this stuff is kind of self certification
like you define an ESD failure
im not even sure if taking damage is automatic failure unless you tell the lab to test for specific damage after test
`nico: well i mean its self defined, the pass or fail criteria

catbyte: i just assumed mackie got taken over by some audio supercorp
wiki says mackie renamed themselves LOUD after getting into other markets
`nico: win for reality
inorite
http://www.raspberrypi.org/archives/878
haha, compliance is a bitch

Posted by renesis at 13:45 | permalink | 0 comments

hmm wtf
LOUD is mackie?
like, LOUD didnt buy mackie, LOUD is mackie and mackie bought the other companies
whoa

Posted by renesis at 13:39 | permalink | 0 comments

oh god thats scary
In the subsequent restructuring, Jack O'Donnell acquired the company. In addition to Alesis, O'Donnell also owns Numark (DJ equipment), Akai Professional, ION Audio, Alto Professional, MixMeister, and Sonivox.
wtf who is this guy...

Posted by renesis at 13:17 | permalink | 0 comments

http://altoproaudio.com/products/zmx862
like $70
according to the product page specs, stereo strips are balanced TRS
and as far as i can tell, this is the only place they list their specs
Extremely high headroom offering extra dynamic range
haha right like its using 18v opamps or something
blackmoon: this thing doesnt have a block diagram for signal routing
which is sad, even by mini console mixer standards
no one reads manuals
except r&d dorks
apparently
inorite
rab: i think Alesis owns Alto
so its like, superchina Alesis
which is kinda scary as Alesis has been superchina for years

guys i really dont like it when you buy stuff and it only includes a quick start guide
what if i was far from internet in a critical live sound situation?
holy fuck all they have online is a quick start guide
